What we collect when you donate, contact us or report a rescue, why we need it, and what we will never do with it.

Who this policy belongs to
This website is run by Loki Pashu Seva Trust, which operates an animal shelter at Near Shiv Mandir, Tajpur Simbhalka, Meerut Road, Shamli, Uttar Pradesh 247776. In this policy, “we” and “LOKI” mean the trust.
What we collect
We only ask for what the task actually needs.
- When you donate: your name, email address, phone number, and postal address if you want an 80G receipt, along with the amount and date of the donation.
- When you report a rescue or contact us: your name, phone number, and whatever you tell us about the animal and the location.
- When you apply to adopt or volunteer: your contact details and the answers you give us about your home or your availability.
- Automatically: basic technical information your browser sends, such as device type and approximate location, used only to keep the site working.
Your card details never reach us
Online payments are processed by Cashfree Payments. Your card number, CVV, UPI PIN and net banking credentials are entered on their systems, not ours. We never see them and we do not store them. Cashfree tells us only that a payment succeeded, for how much, and who made it.
A note about our WhatsApp forms
Some enquiry forms on this site open WhatsApp with your answers already written into a message. Nothing is sent until you press send in WhatsApp. Once you do, that message is covered by WhatsApp’s own privacy terms as well as ours.
Why we hold it
- To send you a receipt and, where applicable, your 80G tax certificate
- To reach you about an animal you reported, adopted, or asked about
- To keep the donation and accounting records the trust is required to keep
- To send occasional updates about the shelter, if you asked for them
What we will not do
We do not sell your information. We do not rent it, trade it, or pass it to other charities or fundraisers. We do not publish donor names or amounts without asking you first.
Who else sees it
Only where it is necessary: our payment gateway, our bank, our accountant, and the tax authorities where the law requires a donation record. Our hosting provider stores the website data. That is the whole list.
How long we keep it
Donation and receipt records are kept for as long as Indian tax and trust law requires. Rescue enquiries and adoption applications are kept while the case is open and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can follow up on the animal. Anything else is deleted once it stops being useful.
Your rights
You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can tell us to stop sending updates at any time. Message us on WhatsApp or email and we will act on it. The only thing we cannot delete is a donation record the law requires us to retain.
Cookies
This site uses functional cookies needed for pages to load correctly and for the donation checkout to work. We do not run advertising or profiling cookies. You can block cookies in your browser, though the donation flow may stop working if you do.
Children
This site is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us their details, tell us and we will remove them.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will update the date shown at the top of this page.
